Chinese Navy Commander Wu Shengli visited India

At the invitation of Indian Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Sureesh Mehta,Member of the Central Military Commission of China, Commander of the People's Liberation Army Navy, General Wu Shengli visited India from November 1- 5, 2008.

During the visit, General Wu met with A.K. Antony, Minister of Defence of India, Admiral Sureesh Mehta and other high level officials of Indian armed forces. General Wu watched the exercise of different types of warplanes, visited Indian naval base at Karwar in Karnataka, the Sea Harrier simulation training facility in Goa, the Indian Navy's aircraft carrier INS Viraat and the Mazhgaon Dockyards in Mumbai. General Wu discussed and interacted with different levels of Indian naval officers in the College of Naval Warfare and Naval Warfare Center. The visit concluded in a success.
