Friends from Huawei Company and Deepalaya Organization,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

        Good evening.

　　It's my great pleasure to attend today's function to witness the launch of a training programme for 50 handicapped children in employment and living-skill in the next 3 years.

　　Being kind and generous in helping others is the common merits deep-rooted in the culture of our two countries. In China, there's a proverb goes like this, 'Give a man a fish; feed him for today. Teach a man to fish; feed him for a lifetime'. To my understanding, there's a similar one in Hindi as well. I am happy to see that Huawei Company and Deepalaya Organization are exactly doing the same today. This training course provided to the 50 kids, would enable them to acquire the ability not only to live more independently but also to enjoy a more meaningful life. I appreciate very much the noble efforts of Huawei Company and Deepalaya Organization in organizing this kind of training program as well as their high sense of social responsibility.

　　In recent years, China-India relations enjoyed a strong momentum of development, especially in the economic and trade field. There are increasing numbers of Chinese and Indian companies who establish their sub-companies or project offices in the respective countries. Huawei is one of the Chinese companies successfully operated in India. To achieve a result of win-win cooperation, Huawei company not only creates job opportunities for Indian people and make its contribution to the Indian economy, but has also been actively engaged itself in charity and public welfare activities in India. Today's event is another concrete example. I hope in the future, more Chinese companies could follow Huawei's good example and make their contributions to the wellbeing of our two countries and two peoples.

　　Ladies and Gentlemen,

　　As two developing countries with the largest population, China and India are faced with many similar challenges. We both have a large population of the handicapped people, among which about 20 million are children. Children are the future of a country. I can not agree more with the saying that 'Every child deserves a chance.' How to provide them with equal opportunities to have a happy and normal life is a big challenge for both China and India. In this regard, we two countries should learn from each other and help each other.

　　This morning, the 2008 Paralympic Torch Relay has started its journey from Beijing. 9 days later, we can see athletes from different countries including India participating in the special Game. I hope the athletes from India can win glory for themselves and for India. I hope children present here tonight with your courage and new skill learned from the training programme also can win honor for your country in the future.
