To celebrate the 81st Anniversary (August 1, 2008) of the Founding of the People's Liberation Army, Senior Colonel Li Chao, the Military Attache of the Chinese Embassy in India, held a reception in Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi on July 25, 2008. Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yan and his wife attended the reception.

Senior officers from all services of the Indian military, Indian Government officials, military attaches from foreign Embassies and media people attended the reception.

The guests congratulated the Chinese host on the great achievements that the PLA has made in the past 81 years. They also watched the photo exhibition of the earthquake relief work in Sichuan, China. Many of them said that the pictures showed that the PLA is indeed the people's army, and is always ready to safeguard the benefit of the people, which impressed them very deeply.
