Ambassador Sun Yuxi meets with the advance team of CCTV program The Trail of Monk Xuan Zang

On August 2, 2006,H.E. Mr. Sun Yuxi, Ambassador of China to India, met with 3 advance team members of CCTV documentary program The Trail of Monk Xuan Zang

Ambassador Sun said that Monk Xuan Zang is really a great figure in Chinese history. He is a well-known philosopher, explorer, translator and master of Buddhism. He is the model of friendly exchange between China and India. Tracing the trail of Monk Xuan Zang of the Tang Dynasty is an important part marking the China-India Friendship Year in 2006. It has great Practical Significance, which could increase the confidence of Chinese nation, enhance the cohesion of Chinese nation, rebuild the spirit of Chinese nation, and bring about a great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. Ambassador Sun hoped that all the program members inherit and carry forward the fine tradition of Sino-Indian friendly exchange started by Monk Xuan Zang, and depend mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and Indian people through this activity.

The Advance team members appreciated all the concern and support made by Chinese Embassy in India, and briefly introduced their preparation and future working plan in India.

This program was launched by China Central Television(CCTV), Beijing Science and Education Film Studio and China Research Center on Xuan Zang. The researching team, composing of Chinese famous scholars, journalists, will start their brave journey from Xian, capital of Shanxi Province, China, on October 12, 2006. They will travel across Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, and arrive at India finally.
