Li Keqiang Meets with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands

On the afternoon of February 7, 2018, Premier Li Keqiang met with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands at the Great Hall of the People.

Li Keqiang expressed that currently China-Netherlands relations enjoy strong development momentum. Since 2014, the successful mutual visits between President Xi Jinping and King Willem-Alexander have greatly promoted the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to maintain high-level exchanges with the Netherlands and promote mutually beneficial cooperation, in a bid to push forward China-Netherlands relations for sustained development based on mutual respect, equal treatment, and mutual benefit and win-win results.

Li Keqiang noted that the Netherlands ranks high in the world in several aspects including agriculture and agricultural technology as well as port logistics and management. China stands ready to work with the Netherlands to deepen cooperation in the fields mentioned above, expand trade scale, strengthen technological exchanges and promote the facilitation of customs clearance, so as to push for a better alignment of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the development strategies of the Netherlands.

Willem-Alexander expressed that Netherlands-China relations are at their best in history. The Netherlands is the third largest trading partner of China in the European Union (EU) and also a gateway for China to enter the EU. The Netherlands welcomes China to expand investment in the country and stands ready to strengthen trade exchanges and deepen cooperation in such areas as agriculture, logistics and transportation with China, thus furthering the two-way opening of both markets.
