|DPRK Leader Kim Jong-il Meets with Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo|
On December 9, 2010, Kim Jong-il, Secretary General of the Labor Party of Korea and Chairman of the National Defense Commission, met with Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo in Pyongyang.
Dai conveyed President Hu Jintao’s cordial greetings to Chairman Kim who expressed thanks and asked Dai to convey his cordial greetings and best wishes to President Hu.
The two sides conducted frank and in-depth talks and reached important consensus on China-North Korea relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
Dai was invited to visit North Korea from December 8 to 9. He held talks with Kang Sok Ju, Vice Premier of the Cabinet of North Korea during the visit.
Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun, Chinese Ambassador to North Korea Liu Hongcai, Deputy Minister of the International Liaison Department Ai Ping, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee Qiu Yuanping and special representative of the Chinese government on the Korean Peninsular affairs Wu Dawei were present at the talks.
Dai visited South Korea from November 27 to 28 and exchanged views with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan on China-South Korea relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
