Special Representatives of China and India on boundary issue held their 14th meeting in Beijing from November 29 to 30. Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo and Indian National Security Advisor Menon, as representatives of China and India respectively, exchanged in-depth views in a frank and friendly atmosphere on properly resolving the border issue and maintaining peace and tranquility in border areas. Both sides pledged to push forward the negotiation process and seek a fair and reasonable solution acceptable to both sides by proceeding from the overall development of bilateral ties and fundamental interests of both peoples and based on the spirit of the political guiding principles. Both sides reviewed with satisfaction the all-round rapid development of bilateral ties in the new century, agreeing to make joint efforts to push China-India strategic cooperative partnership for greater development for the benefit of both peoples. They also pledged to make new contributions to regional and world peace, stability and prosperity. Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
