Divine Craftsmanship-Exhibition on Intangible Cultural Heritage of Zhejiang Province, co-hosted by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture (China), Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of India and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and organized by Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center (China), is to be held from November 21 to 25 at the gallery of All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society in New Delhi, India.

The exhibition, with a selection of typical intangible culture heritages of Zhejiang, greets Indian visitors with the oncoming "Zhejiang flavors": cutting, engraving, drawing and painting; carving and modeling, weaving, dyeing and embroidery, pottery making and firing as well as wood work. The exhibition displays vivid and multifarious spectacles of Zhejiang intangible culture heritages in every field of practice, production and living. Every exhibit is the epitome of superb craftsmanship and every performance embodies Zhejiang culture in its depth, complexity and abundance. There are 31 intangible culture heritages at the provincial level or above and over 200 pieces of masterwork in the Exhibition, including Longquan Celadon, Yueqing Fine-grained Paper-cut, Hangzhou Embroidery, Dujinsheng Brocade and Wangxingji Fans. Focusing on the typical Zhejiang folk skills and stunts, such as embroidery, engraving, carving, modeling and other traditional arts and crafts projects, the Exhibition invites audiences to appreciate the richness and charm of intangible cultural heritage resources in China through an integration of static artistic displays and dynamic performances. During the Exhibition, 8 representative successors and masters of arts and crafts specialized in fields of silk embroidery, porcelain making, tea ceremony, wood carving, wood-block printing, rice-ball modeling, Dongyang bamboo weaving and marionette performance will give live demonstrations and have on-site interactions with visitors.

Renowned as a "Paradise of Silk", "Hometown of Fish and Rice", "Land of Culture" and "Best Place for Tourism", Zhejiang Province is one of the birthplaces of the Yangtze River civilization in China, rich in cultural heritage and having scored remarkable achievements in the areas of protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. The participating items of Longquan Celadon and Yueqing Fine-grained Paper-cut have been included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO; Ruian movable-type printing has been included in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding and there are 17 more items included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List of China.

Culture becomes rich and prosperous with mutual exchanges. Today, we display these "living heritages" to Indian people for the purpose of building a bridge of friendship for cultural dialogues and artistic exchanges, helping boost cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and India and promoting cultural recognition and understanding, thus contributing to the protection and development of global cultural diversity.
