BEIJING, April 2 (Xinhuanet) -- A high-level forum was held here on Friday to help China strengthen Olympic intellectual property protection.
On the second anniversary for the implementation of the Olympic Symbols Protection Regulations, the forum was jointly organized by Beijing Olympic Games Organizing Committee (BOCOG) and Beijing Intellectual Property Bureau. "The forum aims at strengthening Olympics-oriented intellectual property protection," said BOGOC vice president Wang Wei. "It will improve China's protection system in this field and better regulate the Olympic business environment." "Therefore, the sponsors' interests will be protected," added Wang. As more and more companies become BOCOG's partners and sponsors, who are permitted to use Olympic intellectual property for marketing and promotion, the intellectual property protection is thus becoming more important than ever, said Wang. The forum was attended by dozens of experts from the BOCOG's Law Department, Beijing Bureau of Commerce and Industry, Beijing University and Beijing Intellectual Property Bureau. |
