BEIJING, Dec. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- The Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG) has the full legitimate rights to its logo, "Dancing Beijing," a committee official said at a press conference in Beijing on Tuesday.

Deputy Director of the Legal Department of the BOC 2008 Olympic Games Liu Yan said: "The Beijing Organizing Committee signed an agreement with the designer, for the overall property rights, including the layout and design of the emblem. It has also registered to protect the legal rights to the trademark."

Liu Yan said his committee had attached great importance to the legal protection of the logo. So far, it had registered 45 kinds of commodities for trademark products in over 180 countries and regions.

Earlier reports said that several companies had applied to register the logo as a trademark.
