On December 16, 2007, Ambassador Zhang Yan met with Mr. Sanjeev Prakash, CEO and Editor-in Chief of ANI(Asia News International).

Ambassador Zhang Yan said, with the constant exchanges of high level visits and cooperation in various fields widening and deepening, Sino-Indian relations have been developing very fast and keeping a good momentum in recent years. As the two most populous developing countries in the world, good neighborliness and friendly cooperation between China and India will not only benefit the 2.4 billion people of the two countries but also conducive to the peace, stability and development of Asia and the world at large. The Chinese ambassador noted that the upcoming visit to China by Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will push the Strategic and Cooperative Partnership between the two countries to a new level.

Ambassador Zhang Yan also expressed the hope that the Indian media continue to focus on and do their part to the development of relations between the two countries and to the friendship and understand between the two peoples.
