At the foot of Badaling Section of the Great Wall over 60 kilometers away from the city proper, the park is adjacent to the Badaling Expressway and the newly-built Badaling Parking Lot, covering an area of 4 million square meters.

The park is famous for tis raising fierce animals in large groups in open areas. It contains 20 zones for viewing animals, two for visiting historical sites, four performances centers, one zone for enjoying plants and one for body-fitting activities.
