1. for Chinese Nationals:

Holders of People's Republic of China (PRC) passports who are in transit through Hong Kong may be granted a stay of seven days on each landing without the prior need to obtain an entry permit provided that normal immigration requirements are met, including possession of valid entry facilities for the destination and confirmed onward booking for the overseas journey. For those holders of People's Republic of China (PRC) passports who want to stay more than seven days, they are required to obtain "Exit-entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao" (EEP).

2. for Indian Nationals:

According to the regulations of the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region (HKSAR), Online pre-arrival registration for nationals of India to visit Hong Kong will be effective from January 23, 2017. Nationals of India will be required to successfully complete online pre-arrival registration before visiting or entering Hong Kong visa-free (i.e. entering Hong Kong during transit by air, except in direct transit by air and not leaving the airport transit area). Successful registrants are required to print on their own a Notification Slip for Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals. Before boarding and upon arrival immigration clearance in the HKSAR, the registrant must hold the Notification, and the same valid Indian Passport that he/she has used to successfully apply for the pre-arrival registration. Failure to present the said two documents will lead to refusal of his/her boarding a conveyance bound for the HKSAR and refusal of entry into the HKSAR upon arrival.

In case pre-arrival registration is unsuccessful, Indian nationals shall apply to the HKSAR Immigration Department directly for an entry visa if they intend to visit Hong Kong. Chinese Diplomatic Missions abroad will not accept the Indian nationals' visa application for HKSAR from December 19, 2016.
