A model contest with the theme of dreaming of gong back to Tibet kicked off in the Concert Hall of the National Library of China, Beijing, Saturday evening.

A total of 18 young ladies from all over the country displayed garments such as underwear, casual wears, and evening dresses, featuring Tibetan cultural and folk elements.

"Conception and inspiration of these dresses and adornments come from Tibet's unique tourist landscape and cultural heritages, in order to show a harmony between costume performing art and the nature," said designer Lin Lixia.

"Images of representative architectures such as the Potala Palace and Norbulingka park are all applied to our designs, feasting the audience's eyes," Lin added.
