Tibet to Grant Housing Rental Subsidies to Needy Families

(2010/01/06)

The Tibet Autonomous Regional Government has earmarked 49.4 million yuan RMB in housing rental subsidies to the needy families, according to the Tibet Regional Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department.

The subsidies will be granted to those families whose members have the permanent registered local urban residences with a per-capita floor space of less than 13 sq metres.

A total of 11,902 needy families with one member or two are expected to get the subsidies during the Tibetan New Year holiday in February.

The monthly subsidy to each person will be 225 yuan RMB, 80 percent of which will come from the budget of the Tibet Autonomous Regional Government, 15 percent from that of the prefectural government and the rest from that of the county-level government.
